VFW Post 12009 Committees

    Membership Committee
  • Recommendations: Adjutant should be chair.
  • Actively recruits VFW events and breakfasts.
  • Reviews Active, Lifetime, Past Due and New memberships.
  • Oversees membership appeal rights, rights of members and transfers.

    • Poppies Committee
  • Handles the aquisition of poppies.
  • Arranges volunteers and schedules for disposition.
  • Collects all donations and turns over all proceeds to the Quartermaster.

    • House Committee
  • Oversees the management/cleanliness of equipment operated and/or owned by the post (primarily cooking equipment).
  • Keeps record of house expenditures/receipts and makes reports at post meetings.
  • This is an elected three person/three year committee position.

    • Community Activities Committee
  • Proposes to the post a list of events to interact with community events.
  • Organizes the proposed events, volunteers and equipment.
  • Acts as a liaison between post and community members.
  • All donations are turned over to Quartermaster.

    • Relief Committee
  • Provides financial assistance to veterans and groups.
  • Investigates the validity of the request for assistance.
  • If valid, brings the request before the membership for approval.
