About VFW Post 12009 Auxiliary

Membership

VFW Auxiliary Members:
  • Must be citizens of the United States or a United States National, and at least 16 years old.
  • Those eligible are:
    • Husband/Wife
    • Widower/Widow
    • Father/Mother
    • Grandfathers/Grandmothers
    • Sons/Daughters
    • Grandsons/Granddaughters
    • Brothers/Sisters
Of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

Those eligible for membership in the VFW are those that have received a campaign medal for overseas service;
have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay.

Proof of service is required for eligibility and must be obtained by the applicant.

Annual membership dues are $20.00.
Lifetime Membership Dues:
Ages 16-20 - $220
Ages 21-25 - $210
Ages 26-30 - $200
Ages 31-35 - $190
Ages 36-40 - $185
Ages 41-45 - $175
Ages 46-50 - $170
Ages 51-55 - $160
Ages 56-60 - $150
Ages 61-65 - $140
Ages 66-70 - $130
Ages 71-75 - $115
Ages 76-80 - $95
Ages 81-85 - $75

Our auxiliary has been in existence since March of 2010 and at this time have 28 members. We are small but mighty!!! We welcome all eligible members!!!!

Our programs include: Veterans and Family Support, Hospital, Cancer Aid and Research, Legislative, Americanism, Scholarship Programs such as: Voice of Democracy Patriots Pen, Just Say NO, Patriot Art. Plus we donate to the area Youth Programs, Scouting, Athletics, Back to School Supply Drive, Mountain Resource Children's Christmas Program, etc.

Our "Make a Difference Day" project has been to help the Mountain High Peace Shelter", which is a battered women's shelter here in our community.
