Our November Auxiliary meeting will be SATURDAY, 11/18, 2:00 PM AT THE CONIFER SAFEWAY (small sitting area by the Starbucks). This is a one time change. The agenda is attached. Also the VFW Breakfast at Beaver Ranch is this Sunday, 7:30 - 11:00 AM. November 18, 2023, Agenda One time meeting change to Saturday 11/18/23, 2:00 P.M. at Conifer Safeway. The meeting begins at 2 PM. President gives 1 rap of the gavel. President: We welcome all members and guests. All are reminded that only members of this Auxiliary may participate in discussion and voting. Madam Guard, please close the doors and allow no one to enter until opening ceremonies have been concluded. Guard: Yes, Madam President President: Madam Conductress, satisfy yourself that all present are entitled to remain. (2 raps) Conductress: Madam President, I find all, except those standing, in possession of the official membership dues card for the current calendar year. President: Madam Secretary, please call the roll of officers. Officers present yourselves at the Altar for the opening services. (2 raps) President: Chaplain will now offer the opening prayer. Chaplain: As we gather here today as members of the VFW Auxiliary, we pray that we are ever mindful of opportunities to render our services to veterans. Guide us in our deliberations that we may make sound decisions for our Auxiliary. Amen. President: Attention! Patriotic Instructor: Let us be ever mindful of our duties as members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary, to see that our Flag is never desecrated and to teach the people of our land what this means and to see that all are instructed in the pledge to the Flag. President: You will salute and give pledge to the Flag I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. President: We have been permitted to assemble again in this room and I trust that the business transacted here will be for our mutual benefit. Remember the duty we owe one another and if we carry out daily the lessons and principles taught in this Auxiliary room, our country will be better that we have existed. Let all our actions bring honor to our cause. Officers, please return to your stations. (3 raps) I now declare this Auxiliary meeting open for the transaction of such business as may properly come before it. Madam Guard admit any member who may be in waiting. President: Madam Secretary, do we have any applications for membership? Secretary: Madam President, we have (don’t have). (Secretary reads names of applicants.) President: We will now have the report of the investigating committee. President: If there is no objection, we will have a voice vote to accept this candidate. Madam Secretary, you will notify the applicant to present her/himself for the initiation at the proper time. President: We will now have the presentation of the minutes of the previous meeting. Secretary reads the minutes. President: Are there any corrections? The minutes will stand approved as read (or as corrected). We will now have the presentation of official and other communications by the Secretary. President: We will now have the presentation of the Treasurer’s report. Treasurer reads the report. President: Is there any discussion pertaining to the Treasurer’s report? If not, the Treasurer’s report will be filed subject to audit. The next order of business is the presentation of bills; does anyone have a bill? The Secretary reads the bills, then the Conductress takes the bills to the Trustees for signed approval. Christmas cards – we used all of our stockpile this year, save your leftovers for next year District 8 meetings April 27 at Conifer, 11:30 AM, includes elections and Memorial service Valor Point Christmas party, Sunday, December 3, 1 to 3 PM, gift cards, treat bags, snacks MRC donation for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas? MRC Christmas party – no open house this year but kid’s shopping, Kinder Shop, at the MRC resale store on Friday, 12/8, would appreciate a contribution of 8 dozen cookies by Wednesday, 12/6 Auxiliary Christmas party New Business Salida Post donations - Karen Valor Point bingo – do we want to continue? We cancelled September and October because we weren’t available. Crafty volunteer needed – Buddy poppy display for Department convention in June, requirements and ideas are on line. We have plenty of poppies. Members’ and family status Other? President: The next order of business is the report from the Trustees and action thereon. (If new bills or the audit must be voted on.) President: Are there any suggestions for the good of the organization? President: Is there anything further to come before this meeting? If not, this concludes our business. Officers present yourselves at the Altar for the closing ceremonies. (2 raps) Chaplain: We are thankful to come together for the good of our veterans. We pray for strength to continue to strive to serve others. Please bless us in our work until we meet again. Amen. President: I would like to remind us all of our purpose as an Auxiliary, which is to serve veterans and their families. Let us treat one another with respect and kindness at all times.
